I am Suraj Kumar Meher ,(age 39) with my
elder brother Rajesh Kumar Meher (,age 42) s/o Mr, Dhananjaya Meher from India ,we are interested to set records. I
had a previous record in Limca Book of Records 2013 by making a smallest table
fan, now we are like to inform you that we have successfully able to made a LARGEST TELEVISION REMOTE CONTROL.
Size is 4.5 meters, width
is 1.18 meters. and height is 0.72 meter.
Is measured with a professionally
used measurement tape by a
qualified Architect .This remote is made from thermo plastic with 37 rubber buttons for functions,
a huge circuit board made by waterproof plywood
used inside the remote for fittings of the electronics equipments . Then it
functioning as a everyday used normal remote controller in front
of the LCD t.v. And looks
accurate same replica of the original remote (size is 19 cm )
design of the television. This is exact to scale, 23.68 times larger than the original remote.
we had set a record in
Guinness world records recently ,
We had started work since 15th june 2015 till 22nd
august 2015 , we had spent 68 days to complete the project ,we feel proud to complete the remote
control attractively , it has same function as the normal sized version.
We attempt this record in a public
place on 21 september 2015 at 10:30 a.m, , venue at Dhanupali, sambalpur, odisha , which is inspected by many individual persons at the
moment in the public place and two independent witness by Honourable
M.L.A.of Rengali , Mr, Ramesh Patua and Respectable Addl. Superintend of Police
Mr.Sushil Kumar Panigrahi . (
their report is also attached with this mail )and Honourable M.L.A of Sambalpur
Dr, Raseswari panigrahi also attain
in this attempt and thoroughly verified this
Largest Remote Control and admire our job . This is made with too standard
quality plastic which is too strong as one 5 years child can stand on this
freely. This need more then 3 people to move to another place. We can’t able to
weight this because this is too large to send somewhere for weight measuring
but we think this is about 100 kilograms approximately.
The making process
At
first, we have choose one general sized version of REMOTE ( of a L.C.D. television ) which is
commercially available in the market for general use .( See image # 1)then we
have measured it by a the measurement
tape , we found this is 19 cm long and 5 cm width , we opened this into 3 pieces,
part 1=upper cabinet ,
part 2= circuit board ,
part 3= lower cabinet.
Then we
measured this again length, height, width, corners ,curves etc. To calculate
how bigger can we be able to make, after a lot of discussion and many arguments
and searched place where we could make this, finally we come to the conclusion, that we
choose our workshop near our house,
here we can make the remote 4.5 meters
of long .this will be 23.68 times larger then the original which is 19 cm long
(450 cm x 19 cm =23.68 )by this
calculation we find other parts measurements like width and heights etc. but we
try to make the curves and angles are to be same.
then we make a structural frame with soil.
( see image #2 ) The frame exact to
scale and same replica, basically ratio of original part no. 1 =upper case must be same to the
soil model ,most important was the curves and angles. And we used as per
possible same kind of thermo plastic as the original one , then the plastic was
moulded by using a large fire burner of LPG gas ( see image #3)after
some attempt we successfully able to made the
part no. 1 ( upper cabinet ) on
the soil frame , we keep the upper cabinet of plastic and make holes for buttons ,then we
destroy the soil frame, and as the same
procedure we able to make the part no. 3 ( lower cabinet ) but this one is easier then
the first one because we had gained some experiences from the first cabinet making
.Now the time for making the part no, 2 (circuit board) we have taken a large plywood for fittings the parts and wiring the
switches .Mr Rajesh Meher, have a Diploma about Electronics Engineering , so
this work was not so difficult to make a
huge circuit in it ,which was made quite
easy then the other constructions , then
we make fittings and soldering of wires and check before the television. It
functions as a general remote .Then we became so excited to complete the
remote,
We have faced many problems to make this
because basically we are small business man
(stationary shopkeeper ) and we have not many time or money to spend for
it, we have also sold our motorcycle to make the project .Generally we have to attain at our shop from 9 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. to do
our business jobs timely . Commonly we
complete our project at 11 p.m. to till 2 a.m. at midnight or 5 a.m. to 7:30
a.m. so, we spend around 68 days to complete without taking proper rest. Then we
felt seek some health problems also.
By the way, we have able to fit together the
three parts of remote. We had used too much putty to make a polish and finish
the body and used primer paints and satin black paints by a sprayer 3 - 4 coated to make smooth surface, and I am ( Suraj Meher) a good portrait
artist, so I have used my skill
and take a painting brush to draw the
numbers and letters in the remote body, (see image# 4 ) exactly as on the
original one. we got sucess with the blessing
of our parents and Goddess Maa Samlei
Devi and well wishes from my friend Hemakanta Sahu ( school teacher
) and many fans of the remote from my nation India.
